The process of EBB files in ISHIPPER

EBB files are Royal Mail billing and reconciliation files used to confirm shipment information and support billing processes. These files are received by us from Royal mail when the shipments have not been manifested and they have been injected into the Royal Mail network

EBB File Flow

1. Royal Mail Generates the EBB File

Royal Mail creates EBB files containing shipment and billing information for processed shipments. These files are sent to us.

2. File is Received by Sapient

The EBB file is received into Sapient for processing.

At this stage, the file may contain data for multiple environments or accounts and cannot always be sent directly to the destination system.

3. File Splitting

Sapient processes the incoming EBB file and splits it into individual files based on the required environment or account.

Each split file contains only the records relevant to that environment.

4. Files are Sent to iShipper

Once the files have been split successfully, they are transferred to their respective destination systems, including iShipper.

This allows customers to receive and process the EBB data relevant to their account.

5. Archive Process

After the split files have been processed and transferred:

The split files are moved into the archive folder.
The original source file remains unchanged and is not moved to archive as part of this process.

If any of these processes are not running or working as expected then there is an issue that needs to be investigated.
